Canada’s spec-ops forces deploy in Ukraine to help train troops - media

Canadian Forces special operations members are training Ukrainians on the ground in Ukraine.

That’s according to Global News citing its sources, Ukrinform reports.

Sources say the members from the Canadian Special Operations Command are also facilitating weapons and equipment delivery.

Asked to comment on the deployment of Canadian forces on the ground in Ukraine, Minister Anand said: “In terms of special forces and their location and information along those lines, it would be imprudent for me to provide that information.”

The news comes after Canada’s Defense Minister Anita Anand announced plans to have regular Canadian Forces take part in specifically training Ukrainian recruits in the UK, as part of a pledge the Canadian government made when it put on pause the Operation Unifier mission in Ukraine shortly before Russia invaded in February.
