Russian forces damage pumping station at Zaporizhia nuclear power plant - Energoatom
Russian invaders have again shelled the territory of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, hitting an area close to the first power unit.
Ukraine's National Nuclear Energy Generating Company Energoatom said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.
The company said the enemy had damaged the domestic sewage pumping station. Large plumes of smoke were seen nearby.
"The situation is getting worse, because there are radiation sources very close by. Several radiation sensors were damaged," Energoatom said.
On August 11, the enemy fired at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Ukraine and in Europe. Five hits were recorded near the welding area and the storage facility for radiation sources. Five more explosions occurred near the fire station located not far from the nuclear power plant.
