Enemy attempting to break through Ukrainian defense lines in Donetsk region
Russian invaders are trying to break through the defense lines of Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region.
The press service of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.
In the Sloviansk direction, shelling was recorded near Karnaukhivka, Mazanivka, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Dovhenke, Nova Dmytrivka, Hrushuvakha, and Nortsivka, as well as an airstrike near Zalyman.
The General Staff said that in the Donetsk direction, the enemy is trying to break through the defense lines of the Ukrainian troops and occupy advantageous positions for resuming the offensive toward Kramatorsk and Bakhmut. In order to constrain the actions and prevent Ukrainian units from moving in other directions, the enemy fires at the positions of Ukraine's defense forces along the contact line.
On the Kramatorsk axis, the invaders shelled areas outside Pryshyb, Siversk, Hryhorivka, and Verkhniokamianske. They unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position near Hryhorivka, Verkhniokamianske, and Ivano-Darivka. Ukraine's Armed Forces forced the enemy to retreat.
According to the report, in the Bakhmut direction, the Russian army shelled used tanks, guns and MLRS to shell areas outside Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Bilohorivka, Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve, Yakovlivka, Kodema and Kurdiumivka. Aircraft were used to launch strikes near Vyimka, Spirne, Bakhmut, Soledar and Zaitseve.
"The enemy conducted assault operations, trying to break through the defense lines of our troops and advance towards Yakovlivka, Bakhmutske, Zaitsevo, Vershyna and Dacha. Ukrainian soldiers inflicted losses on the occupiers and forced them to flee," the General Staff said.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy's artillery shelling was recorded near Marinka, Netailove, Avdiivka, Opytne and Krasnohorivka. The invaders also launched airstrikes near Avdiivka and Marinka.
The enemy also tried to advance to Marinka and Pisky, but suffered losses and retreated.
