Russian forces shelled the communities of the Sumy region 15 times on Saturday, August 13, with 223 explosions recorded.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, the Russians carried out 15 attacks on eight border communities of the region - Shalyhyne, Khotin, Bilopillia, Znob-Novhorodske, Esman, Nova Sloboda, Buryn and Velyka Pysarivka. Some 223 explosions were recorded," he wrote.

Zhyvytskyi said there were no casualties, but there was destruction and injured livestock.

The border settlements of the Sumy region are under constant shelling from Russian territory.
