Two Russian warships carrying 16 Kalibr missiles remain combat ready in Black Sea
Two Russian surface warships, carrying 16 Kalibr-type cruise missiles, are remaining combat ready in the Black Sea.
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“As of August 20, 2022, two enemy warships, carrying a total of 16 Kalibr-type cruise missiles, were remaining ready for action in the Black Sea. In the Sea of Azov, the enemy continues to control maritime communications, keeping up to four ships and boats combat ready. In the Mediterranean Sea, there are five Kalibr-type cruise missile carriers,” the report states.
Over the past day, in the interests of the Russian Federation, passage through the Kerch-Yenikale Canal has been carried out as follows: 29 vessels sailed into the Sea of Azov, including five vessels from the Bosphorus Strait; 30 vessels sailed into the Black Sea, and 12 of them went towards the Bosphorus Strait.
According to the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS 1974), turning off automatic identification systems (AIS) on civilian vessels in the Sea of Azov.
A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and August 20, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 44,900 troops.
