Failed ‘nuclear blackmail’: Kremlin propagandists threaten to disconnect ZNPP from power grid
The Kremlin propagandists moved to threats to "disconnect" the Zaporizhzhia NPP from Ukraine's power grid as they realized the ineffectiveness of "nuclear blackmail".
"The mass media of the Russian Federation continue their ‘nuclear blackmail’ but realizing that this does not give the desired results, they begin moving to a backup plan – the threat to ‘disconnect’ Ukraine from power produced at the ZNPP," the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine posted on Telegram, analyzing the main topics spread by the Russian mass media during the week.
At the same time, according to the Center, this week Russian propagandists tried to convince that Ukraine was allegedly violating the rules of warfare.
In particular, they said that, despite the explosions in Crimea and in the regions of the Russian Federation bordering Ukraine, the Russian Federation was allegedly "winning the war and inflicting devastating losses on the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while the Ukrainians continue to hit civilian objects in Donetsk region."
The third topic that was actively covered by the Kremlin media during the week was the western arms supplies to Ukraine. At the beginning of August, Russian propaganda ridiculed Western self-propelled howitzers claiming they were inferior to Soviet counterparts, but already in the second half of the month the propagandists began to express "deep concern" and demand to stop arms supplies to Ukraine.
