Russians strike Zaporizhzhia with Kh-22 missile, several houses destroyed
On the night of August 28, 2022, the Russian military struck the city of Zaporizhzhia with a Kh-22 missile, having hit a housing community.
Several houses were destroyed, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from the scene.
“An explosion took place at 02:00 a.m. We were asleep. Everything started to fall: furniture, walls, glass… We just covered our heads… Nothing is here… How to live here now, we have nowhere to go,” Nadiia Dibrova, a local resident, told.
Together with her relatives, who came to her place from Huliaipole (a city, where hostilities are underway at the moment), Nadiia is dismantling the rubble. They are planning to board windows up, cover the roof with a plastic film and continue living in the part of the house that remained intact.
According to the preliminary data, the housing community was struck with the Kh-22 missile. Its fragments were found at the scene, and a huge crater was left just several meters away from houses.
The exact number of houses damaged and destroyed is yet to be reported. Special services are working at the scene to document the effects.
