Russian troops open fire on Sumy Region with self-propelled artillery, mortars
On August 29, 2022, Russian troops opened fire on Sumy Region’s communities with self-propelled artillery and mortars. A total of 43 explosions were recorded.
The relevant statement was made by Sumy Regional Military Administration Head Dmytro Zhyvytskyi on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Russians opened fire on Sumy Region’s territory four times, namely on such communities as Krasnopillia, Esman, Shalyhyne, Znob-Novhorodske and Buryn,” the report states.
According to Zhyvytskyi, no casualties or destructions were reported.
A reminder that, on August 27, 2022, Russian troops used mortars, cannon artillery and multiple launch rocket systems to strike the border areas of Sumy Region and Chernihiv Region over 150 times.
