Bucha residents killed during Russian occupation buried
On September 2, Ukrainians killed by Russian invaders during the occupation of Bucha town, Kyiv region, in February-March were buried at the cemetery in Bucha.
"Today we finish burying unclaimed bodies. I say ‘unclaimed’ because some bodies were identified but the relatives did not contact us and did not take the bodies. There will be 76 such graves in this sector. These are people killed during the occupation of Bucha and shot dead in the territory of the district," Bucha deputy mayor Mykhailyna Skoryk-Shkarivska said on September 2, Suspilne reports.
According to her, 13 victims were buried on September 2. Among them were those who received bullet wounds, some bodies were burnt.
It was clarified on the Facebook page of the Bucha Town Council, that 15 bodies were buried at the cemetery.
In general, according to the Bucha Town Council data, about 1,100 people were killed in Bucha district due to the actions of the invaders. Of them, 419 people were from the town community. "The figures are inaccurate because the bodies are still being exhumed, and the investigation establishes the causes of death of most of the buried people," reads the statement.
