Zelensky: Defending Ukraine's skies from Russian missiles, aircraft a fundamental issue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has praised the work of the Ukrainian Air Force for downing Russian Kalibr cruise missiles, a helicopter and drones and vowed to do all to fully defend Ukraine's skies from enemy missiles and aircraft.

He said this in his video address, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, our Air Force showed a good result - downed Kalibrs, an attack helicopter of the occupiers, and drones. I want to thank all our defenders and defendresses of the sky from the Air Command East. Well done, today and always. Each such result is a saved Ukrainian life, an opportunity not to fear for all our people. We will do everything so that Ukraine can fully defend its skies from Russian missiles and aircraft. This is one of the fundamental issues for our country," Zelensky said.

He also thanked partners for their help, stressing that helping Ukraine with air defense is "the most literal, most obvious way to protect people from Russian terror."
