Ukrainian forces retake about 6,000 sq km of land – defense official

Ukraine's Armed Forces have already recaptured almost 6,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory from Russian forces, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar has said.

According to Ukrinform, she said this in a Facebook post.

"Almost 6,000 square kilometers," Maliar wrote.

Earlier reports said that Ukraine's firepower disrupts Russian attempts to bring in sufficient reserves to the right bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region.

On the southern axis, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reclaimed 13 settlements, bringing the total area of liberated territories to more than 500 square kilometers.
