Ukraine’s Armed Forces liberate Yatskivka in Donetsk region, regain positions near Bakhmut

The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Yatskivka in Donetsk region and regained previously lost positions in the Bakhmut direction.

Oleksiy Hromov, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this at a briefing, Ukrinform reports.

“In the course of conducting assault operations, units of the Defense Forces established control over the settlement of Yatskivka near Oskil town. Our troops are improving their tactical position. Thus, thanks to the timely regrouping of units of one of the mechanized brigades, the high-quality organization of the battle, we managed to retake the previously lost positions and regain control of the positions in the area south of Bakhmut," he said.

According to him, the situation in the Bakhmut direction remains difficult, but under control. The enemy continues to conduct offensive operations to dislodge Ukrainian units from occupied positions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding their defense despite intense enemy fire.

As reported by Ukrinform, units of the Ukrainian defense forces repelled attacks by Russian troops in the areas of three settlements - Kupiansk, Zaitseve and Novomykhailivka. Aviation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck ten areas of concentration of enemy manpower and military equipment.
