Russian forces shell Zaporizhzhia

Russian missiles targeted the city of Zaporizhzhia in Ukraine in the early hours of Tuesday.

That’s according to Oleksandr Starukh, the head of regional military administration, who broke the news via Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy attacked the regional center. The missiles hit our infrastructure facilities. The reports on casualties and destruction are being clarified," the official wrote.

An air-raid alarm went off in the city. The regional administration urged citizens to observe personal safety measures and not to ignore air-raid alert signals. People are urged to remain in shelters.

There is a risk of repeated attacks, the report says.
