Russian armed aggression affects over 1,207 children in Ukraine

A total of 418 children have been killed and over 789 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Over 1,207 children in Ukraine have been affected by the Russian armed aggression. As of October 7, 2022, a total of 418 children were killed and over 789 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (405), Kharkiv region (252), Kyiv region (116), Mykolaiv region (75), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (64), Kherson region (57), Zaporizhzhia region (50) and Dnipropetrovsk region (30).

On October 5, 2022, a 14-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region’s Zarichne.

On October 6, 2022, a 3-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s shelling of a residential area in the city of Zaporizhzhia.

As a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, a total of 2,608 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine, and 313 of them were destroyed completely.

A reminder that, since the Russian full-scale invasion started, a total of 6,331 Ukrainian children have been found and 7,992 forcibly deported to Russia.
