Eight killed, 24 injured in Russia’s missile strike on downtown Kyiv

Eight people have been killed and 24 injured in Russia’s missile strike on Kyiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district.

The relevant statement was made by Advisor to Ukrainian Internal Affairs Minister Rostyslav Smirnov on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Kyiv. As of 08:45 a.m., eight people were killed and 24 injured in Russia’s shelling of the capital city’s Shevchenkivskyi district. Six cars caught fire, and over 15 cars were damaged,” Smirnov wrote.

Thirty rescuers and six equipment units of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service are working at the scene. Information is yet to be updated.

A reminder that, in the morning of October 10, 2022, a series of explosions rocked the city of Kyiv.
