Supplying Ukraine with F16 fighter jets best response to Russia’s missile terrorism - expert
The Western response to Russian missile terrorism should manifest itself in the transfer of F-16 fighters and early warning aircraft to Ukraine.
This was stated on Facebook by the head of the Center for Defense Reforms, coordinator of the interdepartmental platform for countering hybrid threats, operating within the framework of Ukraine-NATO cooperation, Oleksandr V. Danylyuk, Ukrinform reports citing Guildhall.
“Like Saddam (Hussein of Iraq - ed.), when he started losing the Iran-Iraq war, Putin switched to missile terrorism. Such prospects had been obvious back in April. Today, Ukraine's ability to intercept cruise missiles would be much higher if it had 100 to 200 F-16s and several early warning aircraft,” the expert believes.
“Delaying their transfer to Ukraine today is a crime,” said the head of the Center for Defense Reforms.
“But, with or without F-16s, Ukraine will win this war, while Putin will end up like Saddam,” Danylyuk concluded.
As reported by Ukrinform, 45 residential buildings, five critical infrastructure facilities, six educational institutions, and five medical facilities, were damaged in the capital in the Russian missile attack on Monday, Oct 10.
Among other objects affected was a building hosting the German embassy’s visa office in the heart of Kyiv.
