If Western weapons arrive on time, Ukraine Army will have the edge – Commander Naiev
Russia’s mobilization efforts may generate a powerful force. However, if Ukraine receives Western weapons timely, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will have the edge.
The relevant statement was made by Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Naiev during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In the Russian Federation, as a result of mobilization, the military units that have suffered losses are now being replenished. Mobilization resources are coming to the Donetsk region and other directions. The said mobilization efforts will lead to the creation of new military formations in the territory of Russia, with the help of which their military command will try to regroup and format their strategic offensive operation. They can create over three army corps, four divisions, 10 regiment-type organizational structures, 10 motorized rifle divisions of territorial forces and up to 3-4 territorial force brigades. Generally, this is a powerful force, but they need time for training. In order to arm them, it is necessary to remove equipment from long-term storage, redeploy them and conduct training,” Naiev told.
Among those who are arriving in the temporarily occupied areas, there are mainly the mobilized resources that require the least time for training. But, in any case, these are not regular troops. These are soldiers who had a break in doing a military service.
“Russia’s prepared mobilization base is about 2 million people. Generally, their total mobilization base is about 29 million people. We should also take this into account. On the front, everything will depend on the resources provided to the enemy from Russia and the resources provided to us by our Western partners. In the war of resources, Western weapons are more advanced, high-precision. If we timely receive the necessary amount of ammunition and military equipment, we will have the edge,” Naiev noted.
A reminder that, between February 24, 2022 and October 13, 2022, Russia’s total combat losses in Ukraine reached about 63,800 troops.
