The Ukrainian Air Force Command has confirmed the loss of a Su-24M aircraft.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat told this to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"The bomber aircraft supported offensive actions in the eastern direction, where it struck enemy positions. After completing its combat mission, it was hit by a missile," he said.
The crew decided to return to their base, but crashed in the Poltava region. Two pilots ejected, but one of them died. The command of the Air Force expresses its condolences to the relatives of the fallen hero.
