Invaders block civilian cars at checkpoint in Zaporizhzhia region

Invaders hardly let people leave the temporarily occupied territories at a Russian-controlled checkpoint in Vasylivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov said this at a briefing hosted by the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

"From September 27, a line in Vasylivka started to pile up. There were 1,200 cars with 6,000 residents. Currently, there are more than 1,000 cars and more than 4,000 residents. It has decreased not because people were let through, but because people cannot wait. Now a new route has appeared for evacuation through Melitopol-Berdiansk-Mariupol-Novoazovsk. We already have examples when our residents can use this route," Fedorov said.

However, he promised to provide more details about this route later.

As reported, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration said that on Wednesday at the Russian-controlled checkpoint in Vasylivka, only 154 people were able to leave the temporarily captured territories of Ukraine for Zaporizhzhia.
