Death toll in Russia’s missile attack on Mykolaiv rises to eight
Rescuers have completed dismantling works at the site of a 5-storey apartment block, which was struck with a Russian missile on the night of October 13, 2022. In general, six civilian bodies were recovered from under the rubble, and one victim died in hospital.
The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Rescuers have completed a search and rescue operation. […] In general, six civilian bodies were recovered from under the rubble. Therefore, eight Mykolaiv residents were killed in Russia’s missile attack launched on October 13, 2022: seven residents of the house and one rescuer, who was on duty at a boat station,” the report states.
An 11-year-old boy was rescued from under the rubble but later died in hospital.
Generally, according to Sienkevych, four apartment blocks were damaged. In one of them, two entrances are now in critical condition.
A reminder that, on the night of October 13, 2022, Russian troops fired eight S-300 missiles at the city of Mykolaiv. A number of civilian objects were struck, namely a 5-storey apartment block and a boat station.
