Russia launched nine missile strikes, 39 air strikes on Ukraine’s territory over past day
Over the past day, Russian troops have launched nine missile strikes and 39 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, and have opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) about 30 times.
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the General Staff, over 25 settlements came under enemy fire, including Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Krasnohorivka, Terny, Soledar, Marinka, Bilohirka, etc.
Russian troops used cruise, air-launched and anti-aircraft guided missiles, as well as Iranian-manufactured Shahed-136 suicide drones.
The enemy is trying to hold the temporarily occupied areas and focusing efforts on restraining the actions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces in certain directions. At the same time, Russian invaders continue attempts to conduct offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction and the Avdiivka direction.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces have repelled enemy attacks near such settlements as Spirne, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Maiorsk, Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
Russian troops are opening fire on Ukrainian positions all over the contact line, equipping defense positions and lines in certain directions and conducting air reconnaissance. In violation of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war, Russian troops strike critical infrastructure and civilian houses.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation remained rather unchanged. The Belarusian units involved in the protection of the state border are conducting scheduled rotation operations. The threat of missile and air strikes, as well as attacks with Shahed-136 unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs), from the territory of Belarus is persisting.
In other directions, Russian invaders opened fire as follows:
in the Siverskyi direction – near the Sumy region’s Popivka and Khodyno with different artillery systems;
in the Slobozhanskyi direction – near such settlements as Vysoka Yaruha, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Kozacha Lopan, Ohirtseve and Hatyshche, with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery;
in the Kramatorsk direction – along the contact line, namely near Grekivka, Stelmakhivka, Zarichne, Kyselivka, Terny and Yampolivka, with tanks and artillery;
in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions – along the contact line, with tanks, mortars, cannon and rocket artillery.
In the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russian troops shelled over 25 settlements, namely Velyka Novosilka, Pavlivka, Olhivske and Mali Shcherbaky.
In the Southern Bug direction, the enemy is defending the previously captured frontiers and positions. Russian invaders are opening fire on military and civil infrastructure. Over 35 settlements came under enemy fire along the contact line.
