Ukrainian defenders destroy eight more Iranian Shahed drones

Ukraine's defense forces shot down eight more Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones on Monday evening.

The Ukrainian Air Force said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

"At about 21:00 on October 17, eight Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones were destroyed in the area of responsibility of the Air Command Center," the report said.

Six drones were shot down by fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile groups equipped with MANPADS. Two more Shahed-136s were shot down by anti-aircraft gunners of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

At around 15:00, during a missile attack from the Black Sea, two Kalibr cruise missiles were shot down by the air defense units of the Ukrainian Air Force.
