In occupied areas, invaders loot museums, burn Ukrainian textbooks - General Staff
Russian invaders continue to destroy Ukrainian cultural heritage in the temporarily captured territories.
That’s according to Ukraine’s General Staff, Ukrinform reports.
"The invaders continue to destroy Ukrainian cultural heritage in the temporarily occupied territories, looting museums and burning literature and textbooks printed in Ukrainian,” the report reads.
As reported earlier, as of late September 2022, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy has documented more than 500 cases of Russian war crimes targeting Ukrainian cultural heritage.
Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko stated that Russia's full-scale invasion Ukraine was causing serious destruction of civilian objects, including cultural institutions, churches and mosques, theaters and museums, as well as cultural heritage objects. Even UNESCO World Heritage sites in Ukraine are under threat of destruction.
