Ukraine’s Armed Forces repel enemy attacks near ten settlements

In the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces have repelled enemy attacks near Ternova in Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka and Zolotarivka in Luhansk region, and Lyman, Ivanhrad, Soledar, Novokalynove, Ozarianivka, Odradivka and Pervomaiske in Donetsk region.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its operational update as of 06:00, October 22, which was posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

According to the General Staff, the enemy is trying to hold the temporarily captured territories, focusing its efforts on attempts to disrupt the actions of the Defense Forces in certain directions, and is conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.

The Russian forces are shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops along the contact line, fortifying defensive positions in certain directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance.

The enemy continues to violate the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of war, attacking the civilian infrastructure and civilian residential areas.

In the past 24 hours, the invaders launched 5 missile attacks and 19 airstrikes, more than 94 MLRS attacks.

About 20 settlements came under enemy fire, including Kharkiv, Kupiansk; Bakhmut, Odradivka, Maryinka, Zelenopillia of Donetsk region; Zaporizhzhia; Novovoskresenske of Kherson region.

The enemy used aviation and anti-aircraft guided missiles, as well as Shahed-136 drones for strikes.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the situation has not changed significantly. The deployment of joint regional grouping of troops of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus continues.

In other directions, the enemy used tanks, mortars and artillery of various types to shell settlements:

in the Siverskyi direction, the invaders shelled areas of Ukrainske, Mykolaivka, Krasnyi Khutir and Hai in Chernihiv region, as well as Pokrovka in Sumy region;

in the Slobozhanske direction - areas of Vovchansk, Hatyshche, Hlyboke, Milove, Ohirtseve, Neskuchne, Starytsa, Ternova, Strelecha and Chuyunivka;

in the Kupiansk direction - the areas of Kolodiazne, Dvorichna, Bohdanivka, Berestove and Kyslivka;

in the Lyman direction - the areas of Karmazynivka, Zarichne, Shyykivka and Terna;

in the Bakhmut direction - the areas of Andriivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Bilohorivka, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Ivanhrad, Rozdolivka, Zelenopillia, Klishchiivka and Opytne;

in the Avdiivka direction - the areas of Avdiivka, Vesele, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, and Pervomaiske.

In the Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy did not conduct active offensive operations. The Russian forces shelled the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Vremivka, Velyka Novosilka, Bilohirya, Zelenyi Hai, and Mala Tokmachka.

In the Southern Bug direction, more than 20 settlements near the contact line came under enemy fire, including Novovoskresenske, Myrne, Davydiv Brid and Novohrednieve.
