Russian armed aggression affects over 1,248 children in Ukraine

A total of 430 children have been killed and over 818 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of October 22, 2022, over 1,248 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile prosecutors, a total of 430 children were killed and over 818 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (417), Kharkiv region (260), Kyiv region (116), Mykolaiv region (77), Zaporizhzhia region (69), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (64), Kherson region (57), and Dnipropetrovsk region (31).

The Ukrainian side received information about a 10-year-old girl killed in Russia’s shelling of the Kharkiv region’s village of Novyi Burluk on February 25, 2022.

On October 16, 2022, a 16-year-old boy was injured in Russia’s artillery strikes on the Donetsk region’s Klishchiivka.

As a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, a total of 2,663 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine, and 326 of them were destroyed completely.
