Ukrainian forces down Russian missile in Kyiv region with shot from Stinger

Fighters of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have shot down a Russian cruise missile in the north of the Kyiv region with a shot from a Stinger man-portable air defense system.

According to Ukrinform, the SOF’s press service reported this on Telegram.

During combat duty, one of the units of the Special Operations Forces received a signal about a missile launched by Russian aircraft from the area of the city of Borisoglebsk.

While monitoring Ukraine’s airspace, SOF operators noticed a target moving at a distance of several kilometers in the direction of the western regions of Ukraine.

"An enemy missile was hit by a shot from a Stinger MANPADS and fell to the ground," the report said.
