More than 1,250 children already affected by Russian aggression in Ukraine

More than 1,250 children have already been affected as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

"As of the morning of October 23, 2022, more than 1,250 children in Ukraine were affected as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 430 children were killed and more than 820 were injured," the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.

It is emphasized that these numbers are not final as the efforts to establish casualties in the areas of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories are ongoing.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region – 419, Kharkiv region – 260, Kyiv region – 116, Mykolaiv region – 77, Zaporizhzhia region – 69, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 64, Kherson region – 57, Dnipropetrovsk region – 31.

In particular, two children, 9 and 11, were injured in Russian shelling of Ukrainsk town, Donetsk region, on October 22.

The Russian armed forces damaged 2,663 educational institutions; 326 of them were completely destroyed.

As reported, the police documented the murder of a 10-year-old girl by a Russian sniper in Kharkiv region on October 22.
