Ukraine, Israel defense chiefs talk cooperation

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, in a call with his Israeli counterpart Benny Gantz discussed the ways of developing bilateral cooperation.

That’s according to a press release by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense posted on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"I had a call with Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz. We discussed the security situation in Ukraine, as well as ways to further develop our bilateral cooperation," Reznikov said.

The ministers also discussed the provision of humanitarian and medical aid.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on October 18, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz and leader of the country's opposition party, Benjamin Netanyahu, expressed their reluctance to change Israel's stance on sending defense aid to Ukraine.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the government in Kyiv has repeatedly asked Tel-Aviv to provide defensive weapons, in particular air defense systems. Minister of Diaspora Affairs of the Israeli government, Nahman Shai, spoke in favor of providing such military aid to Ukraine.
