Defense Ministry: Talks with Russia on release of prisoners constantly ongoing
The issue of the release of Ukrainian prisoners is very sensitive, so excessive coverage of it can harm the negotiation process.
"It is a very sensitive issue... It is important to realize that much cannot be said as the negotiation processes are ongoing. And the more you and I talk publicly, the more we can complicate these processes. I once again ask people whose relatives are in captivity to use the services and information of government agencies," Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Hanna Malyar said during the nationwide telethon.
There is a coordination headquarters for prisoners of war issues which one needs to contact, the official noted.
"Believe me that today the state knows about every person in captivity, the active negotiations to release them are ongoing. Releases happen regularly and we don't even talk about all releases publicly. Believe me, this happens all the time," the deputy minister assured.
As reported, Ukraine released 108 women from Russian captivity on October 17.
