Ukraine forces engage enemy nearly 150 times in country’s south

In the southern operational zone, missile and artillery units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out about 150 fire missions targeting Russian troops.

That’s according to Operational Command South, Ukrinform reports.

"Our missile and artillery units carried out more than 150 fire missions overnight. The enemy's losses are still being verified," the statement reads.

According to the Command, the situation in the Southern Buh direction has undergone no significant changes, remaining difficult albeit controlled.

Units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold the occupied positions and exert fire influence on the enemy combat positions in their concentration areas and on logistics facilities.

Meanwhile, the Russian troops are focusing their main efforts on conducting active defense missions and trying to hold occupied positions along the entire contact line.

Throughout the night, the invaders fired at the Ukrainian positions and surrounding territorial communities employing available means of destruction. For their strikes, the enemy used MLR systems, artillery shells of various calibers, and mortars.

In particular, the Russians hit the Shyrokivska community of Mykolaiv region with artillery and MLR systems. According to OC South, enemy shells landed in agricultural areas outside the settlement. There were no casualties or damage to property.

Along the coast of the temporarily occupied Crimea, a Russian naval group of nine warships and cutters, including three large landing vessels and the same number of cruise missile carriers, including a submarine, continues to maneuver. The enemy has 20 Kelibr missiles in full combat readiness.

The sea corridors operate within the framework of the grain agreement, secured by the Defense Forces of Ukraine and international guarantees.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, overnight Wednesday, October 26, Russian troops attacked Nikopol and the Chervonohryhorivska community of Dnipropetrovsk region, using Grad MLR systems. A power line was damaged, while no casualties were reported.

In the Nikopol district, Ukraine’s air defense forces downed another Russian kamikaze drone.
