Ukraine has returned more than 1,000 people from captivity since March
Since March, the Ukrainian side has managed to return 1,031 people from Russian captivity.
“In total, since March, 1,031 people have already been released from Russian captivity. Thanks to the whole team for this result!” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address.
Today, he noted, another 52 people returned from Russian captivity: 50 Ukrainian defenders and two civilians. In particular, soldiers of the National Guard, the Navy, border guards, security forces, a sailor from Snake Iceland, a National Guardsman taken prisoner while defending the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, a pensioner, who earlier worked in the Security Service of Ukraine and who was taken prisoner by the occupiers in Bucha, returned home today.
“We remember all those held captive in Russia and in the occupied territory, and will do everything to return each and every one,” Zelensky stressed.
As reported, Ukraine and Russia held another prisoner swap on October 29. Fifty Ukrainian servicemen and two civilians returned home.
