Ukrainian defenders shot down more than 40 drones in a week

During the week, the Ukrainian military shot down more than 40 Iranian-made combat drones, a significant number of Russian missiles, six attack helicopters, and several enemy aircraft.

“During the week – from Saturday to Saturday – more than 40 Iranian combat drones, a significant number of Russian missiles, six attack helicopters of the occupiers, several enemy aircraft were shot down... Such a result means hundreds of Ukrainian lives saved, dozens of critical infrastructure objects saved,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening address.

He thanked all military personnel who protect the Ukrainian sky, saving the country from airstrikes.

“And as proposed by the military command, today I want to especially commend the Odesa and Kherson anti-aircraft missile brigades of the Air Force. Well done, guys! I also thank all our defenders of the sky, absolutely everyone – all anti-aircraft fighters, pilots, mobile fire groups, who are currently performing one of the most important strategic tasks – saving the country from terrorists’ airstrikes,” the President stressed.

As reported, Yuriy Ihnat, Spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that more than 300 Shahed-136 kamikaze drones had been shot down since September 13.
