Enemy opens fire on Sumy region’s border areas with artillery, mortars, UAV

Five communities have come under enemy fire in the Sumy region over the past day. Russian troops used artillery, mortars and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“On October 29, 2022, Russian occupation troops continued to open fire on the Sumy region’s border areas. The enemy inflicted fire damage with cannon artillery, mortars and an UAV. The following communities came under enemy fire: Krasnopillia, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Esman and Seredyno-Buda,” the report states.

In particular, Russian invaders launched mortar strikes on the Bilopillia community from Russia’s Tyotkino. Over 15 explosions were recorded.

Additionally, Russians launched mortar strikes on the border areas of the Seredyno-Buda community and the Esman community. Four explosions were recorded in each of them.

Russian troops struck the Krasnopillia community with cannon artillery. About five explosions were recorded. Here, an enemy UAV also dropped an explosive item. No casualties were reported.

In addition, Russian invaders launched 120-mm mortar strikes on the Myropillia community from Russia’s Guyevo. About 10 explosions were recorded.
