Too early to talk of Russian withdrawal from Kherson – Podolyak
Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has said that it is still too early to talk about a Russian troop pullout from the southern city of Kherson amid reports that a respective decision has been made.
He said this in a statement to Reuters, Ukrinform reports.
"Until the Ukrainian flag is flying over Kherson, it makes no sense to talk about a Russian withdrawal," Podolyak said.
Earlier, the commander of Russian forces, Sergei Surovikin, at a meeting with Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu proposed that the Russian army leave the right-bank part of the Kherson region. Shoigu supported the proposal.
