Mykolaiv residents to receive water after demining and repair works in Kherson region

The supply of water to the city of Mykolaiv will be restored immediately as demining and repair works are completed within the Dnipro-Mykolaiv water pipeline in the Kherson region.

The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I have just returned from the Kherson region, where I inspected the Dnipro-Mykolaiv water pipeline damaged by rashists during occupation. There are several impact areas, where deminers are now working and clearing all the adjacent territories from mines. Just as I was there, three mines were found. As soon as demining efforts are completed, our Vodokanal services will come and repair the pipeline,” Sienkevych told.

In his words, there are some problems with electricity at the water intake station, but generally things are not as bad as they could have been.

According to Sienkevych, everyone is now working to resume water supply services for Mykolaiv residents: the city council, the regional state administration, the Verkhovna Rada and the Office of the President of Ukraine.

A reminder that water supply services were interrupted in the city of Mykolaiv in March 2022 after Russian occupiers damaged the Dnipro-Mykolaiv water pipeline in the Kherson region’s Kyselivka.
