Air defense system in action in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Sumy regions

Amid an air raid alert announced across Ukraine, air defenses in a number of regions have been employed.

That’s according to regional administration chiefs and other officials, Ukrinform saw.

"Air defense forces are in action in Chernihiv region. In no case must you send photos and videos of the hits, the actions of our air defense forces, and deployment and movement of troops!!! The missile attack is ongoing. Remain in a shelter or in a safe place," the head of the administration Vladyslav Chaus wrote.

In Kyiv, according to preliminary reports, four missiles were shot down, and two explosions were also recorded.

In the Kyiv region, air defense forces shot down a number of enemy aerial targets.

As reported by Ukrinform, the head of the regional military administration, Oleksiy Kuleba, announced this on Telegram.

A Russian missile as also shot down in Sumy region, according to a local administration chief Dmytro Zhyvytskyi.

An air alert has been declared throughout Ukraine. Dozens of incoming missiles are reported, aiming at unknown targets across the country.
