Ukraine insists on its presence at NATO Council meeting on Poland - Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that representatives of Ukraine should be present at a meeting of the NATO Council to discuss the explosion in Poland caused by a missile.

He said this in an interview with Ukrainian journalists on Wednesday, Ukrinform reports.

"I would like we be invited to the NATO meeting that will be held regarding the incident (in Poland - ed.)... We have insisted on this many times," he said.

Zelensky also expressed hope that international partners will support the Ukrainian proposal and invite Ukrainian representatives to this meeting.

As reported, on Tuesday, November 15, a missile landed outside the Polish village of Przewodów, Hrubeszów County, Lublin Voivodeship, not far from the Ukrainian border, killing two people. The incident took place near a grain drying plant at around 15:40 local time.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Wednesday that there is absolutely nothing to indicate that it was a deliberate attack by Russia. He added that, most likely, it was an air defense missile from the Ukrainian side and it was “an accident”.

In this connection, Poland convened a meeting of the NATO Council.
