Sumy region’s border areas struck seven times over past day
Over the past day, Russian invaders have opened fire on the Sumy region’s border areas seven times.
The relevant statement was made by Sumy Regional Military Administration Head Dmytro Zhyvytskyi on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to Zhyvytskyi, Russians used grenade launchers, mortars, artillery and the Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).
Fifteen mortar shells were fired at a village in the Seredyno-Buda community. No destructions were reported.
The Znob-Novhorodske community came under enemy fire four times. Around 01:00 p.m., Russian troops struck the border areas with the Grad MLRS.
“Ten explosions were recorded in one village and ten more in another. Later, mortar, artillery and grenade strikes were launched nearly at the same time. Generally, 11 explosions were recorded within our territory. No effects,” Zhyvytskyi added.
Around 05:00 p.m., Russians struck the Esman community (12 explosions). According to the preliminary data, no destructions were reported.
Currently, no strike formations or additional enemy troops were detected near the Sumy region’s border areas, Zhyvytskyi noted.
