Russia must pull troops from Zaporizhia NPP - Zelensky

Russia must remove its militants from the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and stop shelling the facility.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this in a video address on Monday, reporting on his latest call with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Ukrinform reports.

"Today I spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron about the implementation of several points of our peace formula at once. Namely, about radiation safety and the situation at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, as well as about the energy security of Ukraine and Europe. We are working to ensure the implementation of the IAEA order to stop any hostile activity against Ukrainian nuclear facilities. And for this, the demilitarization of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant is extremely important. Russia must withdraw all its militants from there and stop shelling the plant," the head of state emphasized.

As previously reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the situation at nuclear plants and the state of Ukraine’s energy system. During the conversation, the issue of ensuring Ukraine's energy stability, in particular, protecting the system from missile strikes, was raised.
