Two civilians killed, ten injured in Russian attack on Hirnyk

Two civilians were killed and ten more were injured as the Russian troops fired Uragan multiple launch rocket systems at the town of Hirnyk, Donetsk region.

“According to the investigation data, on the morning of December 12, the troops of the Russian Federation struck the town of Hirnyk, Kurakhove community, with cluster munitions and Uragan MLRS,” the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.

"The shells hit the central part of the town. As a result of the shelling, two citizens were killed and ten more received injuries of varying degrees of severity. The injured were evacuated to the hospital in Selydove town, they are given qualified medical care," the reports reads.

Five-story buildings and a bank office were also damaged.

An investigative team and paramedics work at the scene. Prosecutors continue to take all appropriate and possible measures to document war crimes committed by the Russian armed forces.

Moreover, under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was launched into criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
