Russia has already fired more than 60 missiles at Ukraine – Air Force spox
During the ongoing massive attack on Ukraine, Russia has already fired more than 60 missiles.
"Currently, there are data on more than 60 missiles fired at the territory of Ukraine," Yuriy Ihnat, Spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said during the nationwide telethon.
According to him, Russian missiles, including Kh-555 and Kh-101, were traditionally fired from Tu-95 aircraft.
Moreover, Kalibr missiles were launched from the Black Sea.
The enemy also fired S-300 missiles, Ihnat added.
The Air Force spokesperson said that the operation of Tu-22M3 bombers which launch Kh-22, Su-35, and Kh-59 missiles was also recorded. MiG-31Ks which carry Kindzhal missiles were also spotted in the sky.
At the same time, he noted the Russians had used Tu-95 aircraft from the area of Engels, where these aircraft are based, for the first time. Moreover, missiles were fired from the north of the Caspian Sea.
"The enemy wanted to massively disperse the attention of the air defense, wanted to keep us in a certain tension so that as many missiles hit their targets as possible," Ihnat emphasized.
He praised the work of the Ukrainian air defense units, noting that the official results will be revealed later. The enemy UAVs were not recorded, he added.
