Drone attack: Klitschko confirms explosions in two districts of Kyiv

Several explosions rang out in the Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, during a drone attack early on Monday, December 19.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app, Ukrinform reports.

"Several explosions were heard in the Solomianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts of the capital. All services are working on the ground," the mayor wrote.

Klitschko promised to disclose the details later.

Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv city military administration, in turn, posted on Telegram that the capital had withstood several waves of attacks by Iranian-made drones. More than 20 enemy UAVs were recorded in the airspace of Kyiv. Air defense forces destroyed about 15 of them.

"Unfortunately, a piece of critical infrastructure was hit. Emergency services are eliminating the consequences. Information on casualties and destruction is being clarified," Popko said.
