Russians shell DTEK's energy facility, killing employee
On Friday, December 23, Russian troops shelled one DTEK's energy facility, and it stopped generating electricity.
DTEK's press service said this in a post on the messaging app Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Today, on December 23, the occupiers intensively shelled an energy enterprise of DTEK Energo. As a result, its equipment was damaged and the station stopped producing electricity," the report said.
DTEK said an employee of the enterprise had been killed the attack and another one had been injured.
"This is already the 21st Russian terrorist attack on DTEK's energy facilities. When the shelling ends, energy workers will begin to restore the operation of the equipment," the report said.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal earlier called on Ukrainians to be ready for new shelling, because Russian terrorists will do everything to leave the population without electricity by the New Year.
