Kherson regional authorities show Children’s Hospital after Russian attack
Kherson regional authorities have shown the damage caused to Regional Children’s Hospital, as seven Russian projectiles struck it on the New Year’s eve.
The relevant photographs were posted by Kherson Regional Military Administration on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“This is what Kherson’s only hospital providing round-the-clock medical services for children looks like now,” the regional administration noted.
Russian troops fired about seven projectiles at Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. The neonatal department was seriously damaged. Two intensive care units were destroyed, and other medical rooms located in the main building were damaged. Over 700 windows were blown out.
Following Russia’s shelling, a fire broke out in a nurse’s room and hospital room.
The hospital staff evacuated 17 children, four parents and 38 health workers to a bomb shelter. Thus, no casualties among civilians were reported.
Emergency services continue to eliminate the aftermath of Russia’s attack.
A reminder that, on the night of January 1, 2022, one civilian was killed and one injured in Russia’s shelling of the city of Kherson.
