Invaders turning Mariupol sea port into military base

In Mariupol, the Russian invaders are gradually turning the sea port into a military base.

Petro Andriushchenko, advisor to the Mariupol mayor, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“The occupiers are gradually turning the sea port into a military base. In later December, all Mariupol citizens working at the port were dismissed (apart from some specialists-collaborators) and new workers were brought in from Moscow. Works on the division of berths into conventionally civilian and conventionally military ones have begun," Andriushchenko wrote.

The mayor's advisor also noted that some sea port employees from Mariupol were "sent" to occupied Crimea in the third decade of December. "After that, contact with them was lost, their whereabouts are unknown to relatives," Andriushchenko wrote.

As reported, Russia's aggression caused one of the biggest humanitarian catastrophes in Mariupol. Almost 90% the city has been destroyed as a result of enemy shelling. The invaders are turning Mariupol into a military and logistics hub of the Russian army.
