Battle for Soledar ongoing, enemy suffers heavy losses

The enemy focuses its efforts on offensive in Bakhmut direction. The battle for Soledar is ongoing.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 18:00, January 11, published on Facebook.

"The enemy focuses its main efforts on attempts to completely capture Donetsk region, conducts offensive operations in Bakhmut direction. The enemy tries to take control of the town of Soledar and the supply routes of Ukrainian units, suffering heavy losses. The battle is ongoing," reads the report.

The invaders also carry out unsuccessful offensive operations in Avdiivka direction. The enemy tries to improve its tactical position in Kupyansk and Novopavlivka directions and holds the defense in Lyman, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson directions.

The situation on Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions has not changed significantly. Belarus continues to support the aggression of the Russian Federation, providing its infrastructure to restore the combat capability of enemy units. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.

At the same time, the Russian invaders do not stop shelling the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian objects along the entire line of contact.

In Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the areas of Novovasylivka and Vovkivka settlements in Sumy region, as well as Huryiv Kozachok, Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, and Novomlynsk settlements in Kharkiv region, came under enemy fire.

In Kupyansk direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Dvorichna, Kupyansk, Kyslivka, Krokhmalne, Berestove, Vyshneve, Pershotravneve, and Ivanivka settlements in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In Lyman direction, Terny in Kharkiv region, as well as Makiivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, and Dibrova in Luhansk region, were struck.

In Bakhmut direction, Spirne, Vyimka, Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Bila Hora, and Druzhba in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Avdiivka direction, Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region were hit.

In Novopavlivka direction, shelling was recorded in Vuhledar and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the areas of Vilne Pole in Donetsk region, Zeleny Hay, Huliaypole, Zaliznychne, Charivne, Bilohirya, Kamyanske, and Plavni in Zaporizhzhia were struck.

In Kherson direction, the enemy keeps terrorizing the residents of the settlements along the right bank of the Dnipro River. Dudchany, Stepanivka, and Kherson came under MLRS and tube artillery fire.

In the temporarily captured territory of Kherson region, the Russian invaders intensify regime measures, inspect the local population. Special attention is paid to mobile phones.

"The trend of overcrowding healthcare facilities in temporarily occupied settlements with wounded Russian occupiers grows. As of January 9, 100 additional beds were set only in a hospital in Markivka, Luhansk region," the report says.
