Ukraine at OSCE calls on partners to send more heavy weapons

Ukraine is calling on international partners to provide it with more heavy military equipment to bring closer the end of Russian aggression.

That’s according to Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As we see, including from the Russian rhetoric, there are clear evidences that Russia is gathering forces for possible new offensives in the coming months. Hidden or open mobilization is a matter of time. In view of this, Russia must not be given any opportunity to try its fortune again,” the envoy said.

“Yesterday’s remarks by the Russian president and his foreign minister once again prove that Russia has not given up on the idea of conquering and destroying Ukraine,” Tsymbaliuk stressed.

He expressed gratitude to partners for the support rendered as well as for the latest announcements of more assistance, at the same time adding that, besides the need for additional air defense systems, “there is an acute need for more items of heavy military equipment.”

As reported, on January 20 at the German-based Ramstein military base, under the auspices of the United States, the next meeting of the Ukraine Support Contact Group will be held, where partner countries will coordinate efforts to provide Kyiv with the necessary weapons and ammunition to fight off Russian aggression.
