Russians shell six communities in Sumy region, 17-year-old boy injured

On Saturday, Russian troops attacked six border communities of Sumy region, firing a total of 115 mines and shells. A 17-year-old boy was injured.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said this in a Facebook post, Ukrinform reports.

In the Esman community, the invaders fired 16 mines and launched 28 strikes using barrel artillery.

"As a result of the shelling, a 17-year-old boy received a shrapnel wound in the village of Studenok. One residential building was destroyed - it was hit by a mine. About ten more houses were damaged. In one household, a cow and a calf were killed," Zhyvytskyi said.

The Nova Sloboda community came under enemy mortar fire - 40 "hits" were recorded. With the same type of weapon, the enemy hit the territory of the Krasnopillia community - nine mines exploded near the border.

Russian forces struck the Bilopillia community with mortars (15 hits) and artillery (seven explosions).

In the Shalyhyne community, Russian forces opened fire using machine guns - ten machine gun rounds were recorded.

Zhyvytskyi also added that Russians shelled the Seredyna-Buda community with artillery (nine hits). There were no casualties.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian aggressors shelled two border communities of Sumy region on January 20. A total of 27 strikes were recorded.
