Donetsk region struck with artillery, Grad MLRS, cluster munitions
On the night and in the morning of January 23, 2023, Russian troops were shelling the Donetsk region with artillery and the Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), using cluster munitions. Casualties among civilians and destructions were reported.
The relevant statement was made by Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Pavlo Kyrylenko on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In the Donetsk direction, the enemy actively opened fire on Avdiivka: it was struck with artillery and the Grad MLRS, using cluster munitions, late in the evening; came under extensive artillery fire at night; and was shelled with the Grad MLRS early in the morning. The effects are being checked,” Kyrylenko wrote.
In the Volnovakha direction, Vuhledar and the outskirts of Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka came under enemy fire. No casualties were reported.
In the Horlivka direction, three civilians were injured in Russia’s shelling of Bakhmut. Three detached houses were damaged in the city.
In the Soledar community, the situation is tense. Such settlements as Paraskoviivka, Rozdolivka, Fedorivka, Vasiukivka and the outskirts of Soledar are remaining under enemy fire. Three houses were also damaged in Russia’s shelling of Chasiv Yar.
In the Lysychansk direction, enemy shelling was recorded in the Lyman community’s Siversk, Torske and Zarichne. No casualties were reported.
A reminder that, on January 22, 2023, four civilians were injured in Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region: three in Bakhmut and one in Avdiivka.
