Reznikov on tanks: Leopard coalition worked, more to come

A Leopard tank coalition has worked just 120 hours after the eighth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group took place in Ramstein, Germany, on January 20.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said this on Twitter, according to Ukrinform.

"120 hours after Ramstein 8, we have approval for Leopards! A Leopard coalition with partners worked! Indeed, Leopards look good in Ukraine!" he wrote.

Reznikov also thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his German counterpart Boris Pistorius, as well as German citizens and everyone who supports Ukraine, for the decision.

"More to come," the minister added.

The decision to provide Ukraine with German-made tanks was approved at a German government meeting on January 25.

Pistorius said at the Bundestag after a defense committee meeting that Leopard 2 tanks from Germany could be delivered to Ukraine in about three months.
